Why do bees sting?

Bees sting only when they feel threatened or while protecting their hive from an intruder. Bees may also sting if they are unduly provoked. The best thing to do if a bee approaches you is not to panic. Keep in mind that when a bee stings it dies, therefore it’s in the bees best interest not to sting.

What is the best way to get rid of unwanted bees?

Handling bees can be dangerous and at times even deadly, if allergic. We do not recommend you attempt to remove bees on your own. Please call ABC Bee Control, as a bee specialist, we can perform a live bee removal, thereby saving the bees and you.

I still see bees after you removed the hive, is this normal?

Yes, this is absolutely normal. The bees you are seeing were out pollinating in the field, and now are returning to the hive. Since the hive no longer exists, and the entrance is sealed, the returning bees will cluster together in hopes that the queen bee will return. They can not survive without her. Therefore, the remaining bees will fly away within 7-10 days.

Should I have someone kill the bees?

Before you attempt to kill the bees, please consider this fact; bees are a crucial part of the environment and recently have declined to 3% of the estimated original population. With this rapid rate of decline, very soon we will not be able to enjoy many fruits and vegetables that we consume daily. Help us save the bees, give ABC Bee Control a call so we can perform a live bee removal and ultimately prevent bees from disappearing.
